LACOL is starting a new series of IT Showcases that allows member institutions to demonstrate what IT/collaborations they are keeping as lessons learned over the COVID pandemic.
Today, Williams College started this series, not with a focus on what faculty have been learning but what their changes in work look like. Here their ideas
- Virtual drop-in sessions
- Collaboration between the museum and Instructional Technology, with a focus on creating virtual exhibits curated/created by students
- The library is using Perusal to provide feedback on student research projects – I love this idea, I think we can totally steal it.
- Library also does a transcriptathon where students transcribe metadata
- student workers who need to learn a new tool/skill to be successful in their IT work create an authentic/needed piece of documentation/instruction for the rest of campus (example of squirrels learning how to code
